Keokuk Native Joins the Hy-Vee Hall of Fame
Justin Tuck chosen as Hy-Vee 2022 Store Manager of the Year
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (March 6, 2023) —Keokuk native Justin Tuck has been named to the Hy-Vee Hall of Fame. Tuck, store manager at the Southridge Hy-Vee in Des Moines, was named one of the Store Managers of the Year for 2022.
Hy-Vee’s Regional Vice President Kevin Mills noted Tuck’s strong leadership and positive attitude as key reasons for his being named to the Hy-Vee Hall of Fame.
“Justin is a difference maker at Southridge Hy-Vee,” Mills said. “His positive force is contagious and results in making people around him better. He maintains composure and professionalism in a sometimes-hectic business. Improving results and a great store atmosphere are proof that Justin is leading at a high level. Along with all the regional leaders, I am so proud of Justin and congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition.”
Tuck’s Hy-Vee career began in 1995 at Keokuk as a part-time checker/stocker. He moved to Macomb in 2002 for a position in the wine & spirits department and moved back to Keokuk in 2003 as a full-time assistant manager. In 2010, Justin moved to Edgewood Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids as assistant manager, health, wellness, home, and moved into the manager, perishables, role in 2016. In November 2018, Justin moved to Wilson Avenue Hy-Vee in Cedar Rapids as assistant director, management of retail operations, and was named store director at Southridge Hy-Vee in 2019. Justin was named store manager at Southridge Hy-Vee in 2020, his current position.
Tuck graduated from Keokuk High School and furthered his education at Western Illinois University, earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting with a minor in communications. He is married to Ivy and they have two children – Isabella and Carter.
