Matthew Wayne White

Matthew “Matty” Wayne White, 51 of Keokuk, IA passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at his home.

He was born March 26, 1973 in Keokuk, IA the son of Ralph L. Jr., and Vesta R. Todd White. He graduated from Keokuk High School.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Boley in Keokuk. She survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Dalton White of Keokuk, Michael Axtell of Ottumwa, IA and Corbin White of Kahoka, MO, three daughters, Autumn Dawn of Burlington, IA, Amber Axtell of Keokuk and Kia White.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dylon M.R. White, one daughter, Elizabeth R. White, his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, one niece, CaLove Sackman and one nephew, Cory White.

Matty was a fighter. He loved fishing, hunting for morel mushrooms and riding four wheelers. Matty was always one to work with his hands, whether it was working on cars in the garage, woodworking, or crafting a perfect BBQ on the grill. He loved sharing his cooking with family, often gathered around the grill with a cold beer in hand. Matty enjoyed tinkering around the house, making repairs. Matty loved nothing more than being a dad and grandpa and cherished the time he spent with his family.

A Gathering of Remembrance with a carry in dinner will be held from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Bentley’s Playground in Keokuk.
