Ida Mae Haskins, 96, of Keokuk, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at River Hills Village in Keokuk, Ida was born to Joseph and Syvilla (Keppel) Haskins on July 19, 1928, In Keokuk, Iowa, where she resided her entire life. Ida graduated from Keokuk Senior High School and started to work at J.C. Penny while still in high school. Ida started out as a clerk and worked her way to Customer Service Supervisor, retiring in 1982 after thirty-five years of service. Ida enjoyed working in her yard and flowerbeds, while visiting with her neighbor Bubbie. Ida had a green thumb and could grow about any flower or plant. Watching the birds out of her window, especially the cardinals, was a great enjoyment. Ida is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Morrison of Kahoka, Missouri, Nancy (Charlie) Malloy and Sheila Clardy, both of Keokuk. Nieces Diana Davis, Paula (Mike) Hogan of Keokuk, Jacqueline Rankin of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jamie (Shawn) Wood of Meadville, Missouri; nephews, Todd (Jennifer) Haskins of Warsaw, Matt Clardy of Keokuk and Doug Kay of Burlington; along with numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dewayne “Bubbie” Hauff and Leona Torres. Ida was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joe; fiancé, Robert Briggs; three brothers-in-law; and a special aunt Mabel Swigelson. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Printy Funeral Home in Keokuk. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until time of services at 6:00 at the funeral home on Wednesday. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Printy Funeral Home of Keokuk is in charge of arrangements.
