Carthage, IL – Hancock County CASA swore in its latest group of CASA volunteers. Volunteers were sworn in by Judge Rodney Clark at the Hancock County Courthouse on March 10th. Pictured left to right are Mandy Humphry (CASA Coordinator), David Elschlager, Max Owsley, Julie Ferguson, Lori Waddell, Brianna Newlon and Judge Clark.
CASA volunteers are trained community volunteers appointed by a judge to speak up for abused or neglected children in the court system. The newly sworn in volunteers received 30 hours of training which included courtroom procedures, working with social service agencies and the special needs of abused and neglected children. These trained volunteers will represent abused and neglected children in the Hancock County court system.
