KEOKUK, IA – Connection Bank will have an official ground breaking ceremony for their new Keokuk facility at 10:00am on July 8, 2020. Located at 2119 Main Street, between Auto Zone and American Eye Care, the building will be the new home for employees who currently work at the Main Bank and 16th Street branch. Upon completion of the facility, Connection Bank will donate its building located at 501 Main to the City of Keokuk to house the city’s offices and operations.
The project was initially slated for completion in 2020. It was temporarily put on hold with the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic while the bank focused on the health and wellbeing of clients and staff. It is now projected to be completed in early 2021. Connection Bank President and CEO, Matt Morris, states, “To say we’re excited to have this project back in motion is an understatement. After working through the initial shocks of the Coronavirus, we’re now back on track and comfortable with the long term outlook. Keokuk is such a vital part of our business and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to invest back in to the community.”
With roots all the way back to 1854, as the first bank charter in Iowa, Connection Bank and Insurance emerged in September 2016, the marriage of two cornerstone community banks; Fort Madison Bank & Trust in Fort Madison/Burlington and KSB Bank in Keokuk, along with their insurance affiliates. It was created and named on the premise of putting the spotlight on what they consider the most vital priority – the way they treat everyone, their employees, their customers and their communities and building meaningful connections within and between these groups. “We’ve worked very hard to create a place you’ll love to do business and I can’t wait to welcome the greater Keokuk community to our new home,” said Matt Morris, President and CEO.
