Announcement made this afternoon by school officials.
Radio Keokuk has received the announcement by superintendent Christine Barnes.
At this critical time with the anticipation of school being closed until April 10, 2020 with students returning on April 13, our district wants to support our families as much as possible. All schools will be open on Thursday, March 19, from 9-4, for families to come into the buildings to pick up things including student medications, personal items, and teacher created resources to support education during the school shutdown. Please complete this form as soon as possible so we can plan for meal services at local pick-up sites to our families with all children under the age of 18. If you do not have email, please contact a building administrator for assistance. This is an ever changing situation and more details will follow as they are received. Thank you for supporting one another during these unprecedented times.
The previous day Governor Kim Reynolds made the recommendation that all Iowa schools be closed for 4 weeks following consultation with the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and based on CDC guidelines.
