Written by on February 17, 2020

During the early hours of February 17th, 2020 officers were alerted to a motor vehicle theft from Jim Baier Ford, at 5601 Avenue O in Fort Madison. When an employee arrived this morning, they found that the showroom had been entered overnight and two new vehicles were missing. Upon further investigation Monday morning it was found that two used vehicles were also missing. Police discovered forcible entry had been made and the vehicles were driven from the lot. The method of operation has the marks of a professional ring that has been working in the Midwest.

The Fort Madison Police Department is requesting assistance from area residents and business owners regarding any observations made or for any available surveillance video. There is the possibility that a passerby may have seen the cars being driven or being loaded. Some of the best information can come by bits and pieces the public can provide in their observations. The vehicles are very distinctive in appearance and were most likely loaded into a nearby trailer. Contact with the FMPD can be made to (319)372-2525 or your local law enforcement agency.

The four stolen vehicles are pictured below. The first a 2020 Ford Mustang GT Premium, 5.0 LTR, V8 in Twister Orange. The vehicle has a value of $48,600.00. The second stolen vehicle is a 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Daytona Edition, black. This vehicle is one of only 501 made with special graphics on the back. The vehicle has a value of $83,200.
