Main Street Keokuk, Inc., the Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce, Keokuk Area Convention & Tourism Bureau, and Keokuk Economic Development Corporation, are seeking nominations for the 29th Annual Spirit of Keokuk Awards.
“We’d like to encourage the community to submit nominations for the 2019 Spirit of Keokuk Awards. We are always looking for those individuals, projects, or groups that make a difference in Keokuk,” said Kirk Brandenberger of Keokuk Area Convention & Tourism Bureau.
The intent of the award is to recognize individuals, businesses, and/or organizations that have made significant contributions of their time, talent, and expertise toward the economic vitality of the Keokuk area.
When determining a nominee, it is important to ask, did this person, business or organization help shape a more positive future for Keokuk by creating the right jobs and/or by making the Keokuk area a more attractive place – a place where people want to live, invest and spend leisure time?
The nominators are advised to write their nomination with the assumption that those reading and scoring the nomination have never heard of the person, organization, or business.
● Print or type the nomination or fill out online nomination form at
● Use separate forms for multiple nominations
● Keep nominations to space allocated on the form and one additional sheet of paper
● Do not assume that the scorers of the nomination know the person, project or group being nominated – be clear and concise
