Tuesday morning marked a big day for the America’s First Great Dam Museum in Keokuk. The Ameren America power house was the site of a significant donation from the Missouri based power company to the museum. Ameren representatives from Saint Louis and the Lake of the Ozarks presented the America’s First Great Dam Foundation Board with a check for 50 thousand dollars. Dam museum president Phil Tracy was grateful for the contribution which he felt was well-needed.
Foundation Treasurer Kathy Asbury explained that the donation from Ameren allow to the Dam Museum to look to attain grants to further fund the renovation of the museum.
Ameren America leadership took members of the dam museum board on a tour of the power house in Keokuk with the hopes of donating some of the obsolete equipment there to the museum.
