Body Pulled From Mississippi River Confirmed to be Missing Fisherman

The deceased person pulled from the Mississippi River Wednesday morning is indeed the missing fisherman Ron Wagner. The Keokuk Police Department announced Thursday afternoon that the Lee County Medical Examiner had confirmed that the identity of the body is that of 49 year old Ronald Lee Wagner of Montrose, Iowa. Wagner had been reported missing after a boat that he and Bill White Sr. had been using sank in the Mississippi just south of Montrose on January 3rd. The initial search for Ron Wagner and Bill White was suspended on January 6th due to dangerous conditions on the river. The medical examiner determined that, like Bill White, Ron Wagner’s cause of death was accidental drowning.
